5 Things You Need To Know

Online voting for the municipal election begins today.

Voters can cast their ballots online beginning at 10am this morning.

Visit CKElection.com to access the voting portal. In order to participate, voters will need their elector id (found on their voter card) and an email to register. Anyone who did not receive a Voter Card can visit any municipal centre to get one.

The online voting period closes October 15th at 10 pm.

Advance polls open October 11th, 12th and 13th or on election day, October 22nd.


Chatham-Kent Film Group has two showings of Leave No Trace today at Galaxy Cinemas Chatham.

Movie times are 4 and 7. Tickets are $10 cash, available at the door.


The Major League Baseball season ended yesterday. The Jays and Tigers both lost and finish the season out of the playoffs.

There are two divisional ties, so today there are one-off tie-breakers between the Cubs and the Brewers, and between the Rockies and the Dodgers.

The losers will then play against each other tomorrow for the NL Wild Card spot.

The American League playoff teams are the Red Sox, the Indians, and the Astros, with the Yankees playing the A’s for the Wild Card. In the National League, the only thing that’s been decided is that the Braves are in.


Today marks the one-year anniversary of the shooting at the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

The marquees along the Las Vegas Strip will go dark tonight for several minutes to mark the first anniversary of the festival shooting.


An asteroid, that resembles a scary skull, is going to pass by Earth on Halloween.

NASA says the comet is most likely a dead planet. They spotted it using an infrared telescope in Hawaii.

The comet is expected to safely fly by to within 302,000 miles of Earth.
