Darrin Canniff has been elected Mayor of Chatham-Kent.

Darrin wins with just over 56% of the vote.

There will be nine new faces around the council table, six of them women.

Ward 1: Mark Authier and Melissa Harrigan (newly elected)
Ward 2: Trevor Thompson, Anthony Ceccacci (newly elected) and Mary Clare Latimer (newly elected)
Ward 3: Steve Pinsonneault and John Wright (newly elected)
Ward 4: Joe Faas and Jamie McGrail (newly elected)
Ward 5: Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall (newly elected)
Ward 6: Marjorie Crew (newly re-elected), Michael Bondy, Brock McGregor, Doug Sulman, Karen Kirkwood-Whyte (newly elected) and Amy Finn (newly elected)

Voter turn out was up from 2014 to 45.44% of eligible voters (42.11% in 2014)


The  CK Works Community Job Fair is today at the John D. Bradley Centre from 2-7.

Visit with 30+ employers hiring for jobs from a variety of sectors, with possible on-the-spot interviews.


It’s Tuesday and that means there’s a Movie @ Your Library today at 2. And that’s pretty much all we know!

It will be a surprise movie. It could be a new release, might be a classic, join them and find out!

Archaeologists have found what they believe to be the world’s oldest intact shipwreck at the bottom of the Black Sea where it appears to have laid undisturbed for more than 2,400 years.

The 75 foot vessel, thought to be ancient Greek, was discovered with its mast, rudders and rowing benches all present and correct just over a mile below the surface. A lack of oxygen at that depth preserved it.

Also on the water, a replica of the Titanic is going to set sail in 2022. The ship will carry 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members. The Titanic II‘s first voyage will take it from Dubai to Southampton, England. The ship will then trace the original Titanic’s route from England to New York. The Titanic II cost $500 million to build


Wheel of Fortune is giving away its first house and you don’t even have to be on the show to win it, because it’s a viewer sweepstakes.

All you have to do to enter is watch the show next week, record the bonus round puzzle solution and submit the answer to the show’s website. The winner will be selected at random.
