Time magazine chose its Person of the Year. They went with “The Guardians” a.k.a. journalists who are fighting the “war on truth” and standing up to governments that are trying to delegitimize them.

They particularly chose to honor those who’ve paid a price for speaking truth to power. Including Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post columnist who was butchered, most likely by the Saudi government, back in October.

Donald Trump was the magazine’s runner-up for Person of the Year.

The Kansas City Symphony set a Guinness record for World’s Largest Tuba Ensemble last Friday, when 835 players performed O Tannenbaum.

To qualify, the song had to last at least five minutes. It was part of the Symphony’s annual TubaChristmas event, and the musicians ranged in age from 11 to 86.

Vitamin Water is offering $100,000 to the first person, who can last 365 days without using their smartphone.

The company will select one contestant in January to use a “dumb phone” for an entire year. The individual will be awarded $10,000 for lasting six months and $100,000 for lasting the full year.

Vitamin Water has not announced how they will monitor the contestant to prevent cheating. Applications are being currently accepted on Vitamin Water’s Twitter and Instagram pages.
