Pope Francis’ funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. A viewing of his body will begins today in St. Peter’s Basilica. The pontiff died of a stroke at age 88 on Monday.
He will lie in state from 11 a.m. until midnight tonight, from 7 a.m. until midnight on Thursday, and Friday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tens of thousands of mourners are expected to pay their respects.
The cardinals haven’t set a date for the conclave to elect Francis’ successor, but many believe it cannot begin before May 5th.
In playoff hockey last night:
The Chatham Maroons win 4-1 win on the road in St. Marys against the Lincolns. Maroons lead the series 2-1. Game 4 at Memorial Arena Thursday at 7:30.
The Windsor Spitfires were eliminated from the OHL Playoffs by the Kitchener Rangers. The Spits lead the series 3 games to none and lost four straight. Last night was by far the best game of the series, ending 2-1 in overtime.
And speaking of overtime, the Toronto Maple Leafs took Game 2 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs 3-2 over the Ottawa Senators. Game 3 is Thursday in Ottawa at 7 p.m.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the uploading of the first video clip to YouTube.
The 19-second video, titled “Me at the zoo,” features Jawed Karim — one of YouTube’s co-founders, at the zoo. The video has over 17 millions views.
YouTube says more than 20 billion videos have been uploaded in 20 years.
Today is Administrative Professionals Day, previously known as Secretary’s Day, it’s always celebrated on the Wednesday of the last full week of April.
During World War ll there was a shortage of people with the skills of an administrative professional. This was due to the birth-rate decline from the Depression era and booming post-war business. In 1942, the National Secretaries Association was formed in order to recognize the contributions of administrative personnel to the economy, support their development, and attract workers to the field. During their first year as an association, they created National Administrative Professionals Day.
