Phil Collins announces he’s coming out of retirement
The hardest working man in the 80’s has just announced he is coming out of retirement.
Singer and songwriter Phil Collins is making a comeback.
The 64 year old, who hasn’t released an album of new material since 2002) is currently recovering from major back surgery (no doubt from all those years of beating the drums).
Since the early 2000’s, he’s only emerged for a brief Genesis reunion tour in 2007 and the 2010 Motown covers collection Going Back.
But now he says, he’s back, planning a comeback tour and a new solo LP.
He says, “My kids are now 10 and 14 and they want to see what their dad does. They were in nappies (diapers) when I was last on the road. They love my music and I’d like to take them out so they can enjoy it.”
His family was actually the main reason for retiring – he said he needed to be a full time dad.
