1Happy Victoria Day Weekend! The unofficial kick off to Summer.

Victoria Day is a federal Canadian public holiday celebrated on the last Monday before May 25, in honour of Queen Victoria’s birthday. The holiday has been observed since at least 1845, originally falling on Victoria’s actual birthday, May 24, 1819.

Canada is the only country that commemorates Queen Victoria with an official holiday.

The Chatham Kinsmen are selling fireworks on St. Clair St., near the Anjema Eye Clinic until Sunday.

Splash pads at Kingston Park Chatham, Blenheim, Mitchell’s Bay, Tilbury, Wallaceburg and Wheatley all open this weekend.

After 146 years of entertaining audiences with clowns and animal acts, “The Greatest Show on Earth” will host its last and final performance in New York.

The final show will be streamed live on Facebook Sunday night at 7.

Five Things - 5Don’t forget the Bring Your Own Cup days at 7-Eleven are today and tomorrow. You can fill you cups with Slurpees for $1.50.

The cup diameter can be no larger than 10 inches.
