1Another Community Information meeting will be held tonight in Tilbury.

Meeting begins at 6 at the Tilbury branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library.

Let administration know what your community needs. All part of the CK Plan 2035.

Five Things - 2Today is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen.

Buy a Blizzard today and help the kids!

Net proceeds from every Blizzard sold will be donated to your local Children’s Miracle Network® member hospitals. The local proceeds will be directed to paediatric health care at Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre.

Five Things - 3When Apple releases iOS 11 this Fall, users will find a new feature prompting them to activate a ‘do not disturb while driving’ mode, which will prevent any notifications from appearing on the screen while its owner is driving.

If you ‘forget’ to turn it on, the phone figures out that it is in moving vehicle anyway, thanks to its motion sensors, GPS and WiFi systems. Trying to ‘unlock’ the phone will be purposely difficult to do while driving, but easy if you’re an innocent passenger.

The software reply to anyone who messages the driver. For example, an automated “I’m driving right now and will get back to you later”. A similar Android app already exists.

Five Things - 4Major League Baseball is relaxing the dress code for ‘Players Weekend’ August 25-27th, and players will be allowed to wear nicknames on the back of their jerseys.

The teams released the “nicknamed jerseys” yesterday. Take a look at the Jays and Tigers

Five Things - 5Cheetos is opening a pop-up restaurant in New York City next week.

Here are some of the menu “highlights”:
1. Grilled cheese filled with cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and Cheetos.
2. Mac and cheese made with white cheddar and a Flamin’ Hot Chipotle Ranch Cheeto crust.
3. Tacos with chicken, veggies, and Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos on top.
4. Nachos that use Cheetos instead of tortilla chips.
5. And a cheesecake with a Cheetos crust.

The restaurant will only be open for three days, but if it goes well, they’ll probably be doing it again. And they’ll also be releasing a recipe book if you want to make the stuff yourself.
