1WAMBO Weekend is here! The opening ceremonies begin at 5 tonight in Wallaceburg and the Terry Glover Memorial Cruise has a new route, which begins at 6pm. Enjoy a full day of events tomorrow too.

 


Five Things - 2Bothwell Opti Fest begins today and runs through tomorrow at Victoria park in Bothwell. Admission is $5.00 for adults, kids 12 and under are free with an adult.

Enjoy The automotive flea market, a parade tonight, and the mega car show tomorrow.


Five Things - 3Movies in the Park is in Mitchell’s Bay tonight for the first time! Enjoy the movie Turbo at the Mitchell’s Bay Community Park at dusk, with free family activities starting at 6:30.


Five Things - 4The Perseid Meteor Shower will peak tomorrow night. if it’s a clear night, look to the north and northeast for a chance to see over 100 meteors per hour. You won’t even need any special viewing equipment to see them. One potential problem is the brightness of the moon right now, but if you can get away from light and it is clear, it should be a good show tomorrow night.

Researchers recently studied Oreo cookies to find out how long you should dunk them in milk for. Researchers say three seconds is the optimal time. “Oreos absorbed 50 percent of their potential liquid weight in just one second. After two seconds, they absorbed 80 percent. The number flatlined briefly for a second. After the fourth second, the cookie maxed out.”
