1 Handbags for Hospice is tonight at the Portuguese Canadian Social Club (346 Grand Ave. E., Chatham)

There will be 12 rounds of BINGO, the winner of each round wins a purse!

Tickets are $50 and are available at Nina Marie’s and at the door.

Five Things - 2There’s a new chip flavour (flavor?) coming to the U.S.

Crispy Taco was named as the recent winner of the Lay’s Do Us a Flavor contest.

“You can taste the crunch of the taco shell, the spiciness of the beef, the sharpness of the cheddar, even the freshness of the lettuce, it’s amazing.”

Lay’s Canada hasn’t announced when/if they’ll run a Do Us A Flavour contest. Over the Summer they introduced the Swiss Chalet flavour and recently Cheddar & Sour Cream chips.

Five Things - 3Costco just announced they’re launching a delivery option.

You just pick what you want from their website and they’ll deliver it for free, as long as you spend over $75.

But there are a few catches. One, they’ll only deliver “dry goods,” so you can’t get things like 75-packs of steaks. And second, they say the prices will be a little higher than in the stores.

Five Things - 4Pizza Hut just created some new parkas that are made out of the same materials they use in their pizza delivery bags. And you know how warm they keep your pizza…

They won’t be on sale, though, you’ll have to win one. You’ll be eligible by ordering a pizza from Pizza Hut, or by tweeting them a flame emoji and a pizza emoji through the end of the month.

Five Things - 5A company in Spain just invented diet avocados.

They managed to breed them so they’re basically like regular avocados, but with only 30% of the fat. They also have a milder flavor and they’re supposed to last longer without turning that nasty gray color.

Regular avocados already come with the “good fat,” which actually helps your heart and lowers your cholesterol. There’s no word on when we might potentially see them on sale over here.
