1) The sold-out Festival of Giving is tomorrow night at the John D. Bradley Centre.

FoGCharities benefiting from this year’s Festival will include the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent; all food banks operating by Salvation Army, Outreach for Hunger, United Way of Chatham-Kent or other community or church related groups in Chatham-Kent; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent; Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent and the Thamesville Sertoma Club.

3) E-Waste Recycling Day tomorrow from 9am-1pm. In support of Habitat for Humanity C-K. The event will be held at the ReStore located at 566 Riverview Drive Chatham.

4) Signs that read “No Catcall Zone” and “No Catcalling Anytime” have been posted in New York by Feminist Apparel, a non-profit clothing company that wants to end street harrassment.


5) Just in time for the weekend: A scientist just figured out exactly how much ice you need to perfectly chill a 12-pack of beer. It’s 6.6 pounds about 250 grams of ice per beer. But if you drink slowly, you should go with a 10-pound bag, since some of it will melt.
