Today is National Hot Dog Day! And the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre is getting in on the fun.
They will have community BBQ’s set up around C-K from 11:30 – 1:30pm.
Tonight at 7pm there will be a hot dog eating contest on the patio at the Downtown Chatham Centre. First prize is $500! You need to pre-register ($100) here.
Admission is free, show begins at 7pm.
IKEA is recalling about 27 million chests and dressers because they can tip over and crush children. Two kids died after IKEA’s MALM chests fell on them in 2014. There have been three other deaths since 1989.
Customers are supposed to pick up a free wall anchoring kit to keep their furniture from falling over.

The Wall Street Journal got a copy of a memo from McDonald’s to its franchise owners and staff, saying that all-day breakfast could be starting as soon as October. That’s only two-and-a-half months away.
There are still a few more hurdles, including a vote from some key franchise members on the 14th of August. But since all-day breakfast is the number one request McDonald’s gets, it’s probably going to get the thumbs up.
New study reveals that the average new dad gains four pounds.
Among the possible reasons he thought could be the cause were eating more, sleeping less, exercising less, and stressing more. All of these factors have been proven to be causes of weight gain, and uncoincidentally, they also happen to define the first years after having a child but it is unclear if one of these changes is the culprit.
