X-Files returns to TV after 13 years off the air
Fox has announced that they’re bringing back “The X-Files” . . . with DAVID DUCHOVNY and GILLIAN ANDERSON returning as Mulder and Scully. Creator and executive producer Chris Carter is also onboard.
Carter says, quote, “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
For now, it’s being described as an “event series,” with a limited run of SIX episodes. That isn’t much . . . but it’s more than nothing. Production will begin this summer. There’s no airdate yet.
The show originally ran from 1993 to 2002, and there were two movies . . . one in 1998 and one in 2008. No word yet on MITCH PILEGGI’S character Walter Skinner, but he was in both movies so it’s safe to assume he’ll be back for this too.
