Sesame Street to be renovated for season 46

Sesame Street” has been on for 45 years . . . and in all that time the set has stayed pretty much the same.  But that’ll change for the 46th season, which premieres this fall.

They wanted to put the characters in real homes so that kids, quote, “get a better sense of community and what it means to live in a place . . . [and a] better understanding of who the characters are, where they live, and what they do.”

But they won’t be messing with any of the CLASSIC elements.

Cookie Monster will live in an apartment above a remodeled Hooper’s Store . . . Elmo will move into the brownstone at 123 Sesame Street . . . Big Bird has a colorful new nest . . . and Oscar’s trash can will be moved to a more central location.

And he may even pop up in RECYCLING BINS.  (Thanks Obama.)
