Payless Shoes is closing all of its stores in North America, including the Chatham store.
They are filing for creditor protection in Canada and bankruptcy in the U.S. and will start closing all 2,500 North American stores starting at the end of March.
There will be liquidation sales over the next month. Payless intends to keep operating in Latin America.
There are 2,400 workers in 248 stores in Canada.
Queensland, Australia just announced they’re going to start letting people get personalized license plates next month that have emojis on them.
There are four emojis available: The laugh-out-loud face, the winking face, the smiling face with sunglasses, and the hearts-for-eyes face.
Plates will still need three letters and two numbers, as the emojis will not be included in official registration numbers. It’ll run you about $475 Canadian.
Manny Machado just reportedly signed a 10-year, $300 million deal with the San Diego Padres.
It’s the biggest free agent contract in the history of North American sports.
Over a 162 game schedule, if he played every game, he’d make about $62,000 per game; or $6,800 every inning.

Sixteen guests of Sea World in San Diego got stuck on a gondola ride for 4 hours after a big gust of wind tripped a circuit breaker.
The riders were lowered by harnesses and rescued by lifeguard boats.
It was about 49 degrees (9C) in San Diego at the time, there were blankets on board.
Imagine being trapped at Sea World in a little container and not being able to leave…That would really stink.
