5 Things You Need To Know

Tomorrow is a PD Day for most students around Chatham-Kent.

There are some open swim times available at Blenheim Gable Rees Pool from 1:30-3, and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 1:30-4.

Regular admission fees during these times.

Don’t forget about the Red Cross Babysitters course being offered Friday at the Thames Campus Arena from 9-5.

Register by calling 519-360-1998, stop by your local Municipal Centre or go online.

The GPS equivalent of Y2K is happening this Saturday.

GPS satellites are on a ten-digit code, which rolls over every 20 years or so. The last time it happened was 1999, but no one had GPS back then.

It could potentially be a big deal, but probably not. The only devices really at risk of malfunctioning are old or based on old designs. Even then, the part of GPS that lets you find where you’re going should be unaffected, but anything that relies on a specific date and time wouldn’t work correctly.

If you are wondering if your older unit will need some kind of an update, check the manufacturer’s website.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set a new world record earlier this week by securing 1 million Instagram followers in the shortest amount of time.

It took them five hours and 45 minutes to gain 1 million followers after they launched their account. They beat the old record of 11 hours and 36 minutes by K-pop star Kang Daniel.

As of this morning, they have 3.3 million Followers, while following 23 themselves.

You can follow them at @sussexroyal.
