This is the Returns for Leukemia weekend at The Beer Store.
It’s the 14th annual bottle drive at over 450 locations across Ontario, supporting the fight to end blood cancers. The proceeds collected from the bottle drive will go toward the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, which focuses on research, patient support and advocacy.
The Beer Store is accepting all beer bottles and cans, wine and spirit bottles for the drive to support blood cancer research. Beer bottles and cans are worth 10 cents, and most wine and spirit bottles are worth 20 cents.
Just about $1.8 million was raised last year, the goal is to pass $2 million this weekend.

Scientists have created a sound that’s so loud it makes water boil instantly.
The scientists used a powerful X-ray laser to blast water with short pulses of high frequency energy. When the x-rays hit the stream of water they instantly vaporized the water molecules around them like spit on a hot skillet.
If you ever were to experience such a sound directly, ear plugs wouldn’t help because the intensity would not only rupture your eardrums, but probably your heart and lungs as well.
