James Holzhauer’s reign as Jeopardy! champ finally came to an end yesterday. After 32 straight wins and more than $2.4 million in winnings, James lost to a Chicago librarian named Emma Boettcher.
And the tragedy is that James came into last night’s game only about $58,000 short of Ken Jennings’ all-time record of $2.52 million. James ends his run with $2,464,216, after taxes, James is going to take home $1.29 million. That includes the $2,000 he earned last night for coming in second.
Holzhauer may not have broken Jennings’ all-time winnings record, but he has the 10 best single-day totals in the show’s history. His best one-day haul was $131,127.
He joked that he shouldn’t have invited Drake to the taping.
Knew I shouldn’t have invited @Drake to the @Jeopardy taping.

YouTube is banning children from live streaming without adult supervision. YouTube wants to keep kids safe from predators and perverts.
They released a statement saying, “Responsibility is our number one priority, and chief among our areas of focus is protecting minors and families. With this update, we’ll be able to better identify videos that may put minors at risk and apply our protections”
Earlier in the year, YouTube also began disabling comments on videos featuring minors and removed more than 400 channels for violating policies.
Tomorrow is Clean Air Day.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is offering free rides through the CK Transit system for the day. Hop on the bus tomorrow!
