An asteroid that was big enough to destroy a city came within about 44,000 miles of Earth last week and no astronomers detected it was coming.
The asteroid whizzed by during the night on July 24th/25th. A team at an observatory in Brazil first noticed the asteroid on Wednesday, and it appeared in another American team’s data later that day, before flying by hours later.
The observatory said, “There are probably other flybys out there like this, but we don’t see them.”

There’s a product for sale called bra coolers that are ice packs you slip in your bra.
Called Cool58 Bra Coolers, the mini ice packs resemble the silicone chicken cutlets women use for other occasions. Pop them in the fridge or freezer for an hour, and chill out. The effects last up to two hours.
There’s a two-week waitlist for the coolers, and a pair costs about $45.
For men, there’s underwear on the market called Snowballs. You can figure out how that one works on your own.
