5 Things You Need To Know

You’ll want to avoid a section of McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham for the next month or so.

Municipal officials said the road will be closed between Bear Line Road and Fergie Jenkins Parkway starting today until August 30.

No detour routes will be posted but drivers can instead use Bear Line Road – Grand Avenue West – Keil Drive North.

The construction of McNaughton Avenue West is to coincide with the construction of the new Catholic school and Children’s Treatment Centre.

With yesterday being a holiday, garbage and recycle collection is delayed by one day this week.

There’s a movie at the Chatham Branch of the Library this afternoon. Pop by at 2pm to see Wonder starring Julia Roberts, Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson and Izabela Vidovic. The movie will be shown in the Meeting Room.

Coming off of Festival of Nations return this past weekend, Tecumseh Park will be busy again this coming weekend as Ribfest returns. Along with mouth watering ribs, the weekend will have entertainment and fun for kids too. Ribfest kicks off Friday.

Are your shoes getting a little stinky from this heat? Apparently you can use Teabags to get the smell out! Just pop a few tea bags inside your shoes to fight off bad odors caused by heat and bacteria . Leave to sit over night in a warm dry place. The longer you leave the better. Any tea bags will work even the minty herbal ones. Tea bags are super absorbent and will suck the moisture and smell right out.
