5 Things You Need To Know

November 14th is the 318th day of the year. There are 47 days remaining until the end of the year.

The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign begins today in Chatham.

The kettles will be out across the city this morning and this year there will be debit/credit machines available for donations. The goal for 2019 is $480,000 that will support local community initiatives.

Volunteers are desperately needed. For Chatham, Ridgetown & Blenheim call Krysia at 519-437-1784 and in Wallaceburg call Pam at 519-437-1769. Check out the website for more info.

Kettles begin in Wallaceburg next week, Blenheim on the 27th and Ridgetown on December 9th.

Happy Bridge Day – especially for those in Wallaceburg.

The Lord Selkirk Bridge reopened to traffic last night.

The bridge had been closed since February 2019 for major rehabilitation. Construction was expected to be completed by August but several setbacks occurred.

Some work still needs to be done, and there will be occasional slow downs in the area.

The Windsor Express and London Lightning are coming to Chatham for a National Basketball League of Canada pre season game next month.

They’ll play on December 14th at the St. Clair College Healthplex at 7pm.

Tickets are $10, get yours at WindsorExpress.ca.

Disney+ experienced some glitches just after its release on Tuesday, but that hasn’t hurt the bottom line.

Disney announced yesterday that over 10 million people signed up on day one.

Analysts had projected that Disney+ would get 8 million subscribers by the end of 2019. Of course, Disney+ is offering a seven-day free trial, so those 10 million customers aren’t necessarily paying customers, yet.

Disney has projected that Disney+ will have 60 million to 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024, with one-third of those in the U.S. That seems low, considering they’re already at 10 million, and it’s only available in three countries: The U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands.

Hidden Valley Ranch are taking pre-orders right now for a Christmas stocking that’s filled with ranch dressing.

The stocking is made out of plastic and it’s got a spout on top. It’s filled with 52 ounces of straight ranch dressing. You can preorder it for $35 plus tax, and it’ll be delivered early next month.

The holiday collection also includes a Hidden Valley blanket and pillow set, an ugly sweater, a Hidden Valley adult onesie, a backpack and more.
