Municipal Budget deliberations begin tonight at the Civic Centre at 6.
The Budget Committee is scheduled to meet tonight, Wednesday and Thursday this week and Tuesday and Wednesday next week if needed.
Anyone is welcome to attend, the meetings will be broadcast live on YourTV as well as live streamed on YourTV Chatham-Kent’s Facebook Live feed.
If you would like to present tt a meeting, deputations up to five minutes long are allowed every night of deliberations. Sign up at the door prior to the meeting, or contact the Municipality beforehand.
As we told you yesterday, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario is holding a rotating one day strike for the Lambton Kent District School Board on Thursday, January 30th and Tuesday, February 4th. (All secondary schools will be open to secondary students only on Thursday, January 30th)
Now they have announced that all members will walk off the job next Thursday, February 6th as well.
The union said the escalation of its rotating strikes will go ahead as planned unless a central agreement is reached with the provincial government by Friday.

After the real-life tragic death of Kobe Bryant, Planters has decided to “pause” their ad campaign hyping the tragic death of Mr. Peanut.
If you’re wondering what the connection is, apparently, people were searching #RIP-related hashtags on social media to see stuff about Kobe, and Planters had a bunch of sponsored posts about Mr. Peanut.
And a press mailer with “prayer candles” for Mr. Peanut was recently sent out.
So, you know, it just felt a little wrong, especially since there’s a decent chance that Mr. Peanut won’t actually be dead and gone forever.
That said, Planters is still moving forward with their Super Bowl ads, which will somehow involve Mr. Peanut’s funeral.
