The 45th annual Thamesville Threshing Festival, which was set to take place June 26-27th, has been postponed.

“We will have an even bigger reason to celebrate next year,” the committee said on its Facebook page.

The PPE Drive Drop Off is open again today.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has set up a drop off site to gather personal protective equipment (PPE) for front line health care workers.

Thames Campus Arena is open for the public to leave their donations of medical masks, gloves, face shields, goggles, and medical gowns.

The drop off station will open from 10-2:30 Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Donors can bring their donations inside the main front doors of the arena, place them on the table in the ticket area and exit the building for social distancing. Donations must be dropped inside the building.


McDonald’s has a temporary limited menu in Canada that’s now being offered because of COVID-19. There are 10 items that are no longer available for purchase.

As of earlier this week, these items are no longer on the menu: McGriddles, bagels (à la carte and sandwiches), Big Breakfast, salads (entrée and side), croissants, danishes and mini-chocolatines, and cones.

McDonald’s says the switch over to the limited temporary menu is to protect employees so they can continue to serve Canadians.


The CN Tower has challenged the public to come up with creative ways to build a replica of the tower, using things around the house.
