Chatham-Kent will lift its recreational fire permit ban effective today.
Fire and Emergency Services Chief Chris Case made the announcement during Monday’s virtual council meeting.
The ban was implemented last month to help minimize potential COVID-19 exposures faced by firefighters when attending calls, some of which are related to open-air burns.

For those wondering, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will not be flying over the Chatham-Kent/Windsor/Sarnia area.
They landed in London on Sunday before heading to Barrie and flying over Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay yesterday afternoon.
The Snowbirds are flying cross-country to salute Canadians fighting the spread of COVID-19.
The American aerobatic flying team, the United States Navy Blue Angels are flying over the Detroit area today from about 11:30-noon.
