The Comber Agricultural Society has announced the cancellation of the Comber Fair. The 161st edition of the event was scheduled to be held on August 7-9th.

The Comber Fair has been an annual event since 1850. The next Comber Fair will now take place in 2021 on August 13-15th.

The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent will slowly start to reopen next week.

Effective June 1st, the first phase of in-person care will take place at the facility, provided appointments are considered urgent and low-risk for transmission of COVID-19.

Once in-person services resume, only those with confirmed appointments will be allowed at the facility and only one parent or caregiver will be allowed to accompany a child during their appointment.

Those with questions can call the centre at 519-354-0520.


The National Hockey League has a format in place to return to the ice this season.

The NHL wants to resume its season by going straight to the playoffs. Their plan calls for 24 of its 31 teams to play games in two cities.

The league believes they can resume play by late July, but no date has actually been set..


Winners at North Maple Mall has reopened.

Marshalls and HomeSense stores in Ontario and Quebec will also be reopening this week.

Winners says it’s limiting the number of customers inside the store, adding shields at cash registers, enhancing cleaning measures, supplying hand sanitizer, encouraging physical distancing and wearing masks. Employees will be following new physical distancing practices and will be given personal protective equipment and regular temperature checks.

The store hours will be 11-8 until Saturday, with an update then.

IKEA reopened yesterday. IKEA closed all store locations on March 18 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.


NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley are set to make history today as the first crew to fly in SpaceX‘s Crew Dragon capsule, on a mission to the International Space Station.

It’ll also be the first time astronauts have flown to the ISS from U.S. soil in almost a decade, since 2011 — when NASA retired the Space Shuttle Program.

Space Launch Live: America’s Return to Space will air at 2 on Discovery and the Science Channel.

It includes a performance by Katy Perry, plus interviews with former astronauts, NASA YouTuber Mark Rober, and Mythbusters star Adam Savage.
