June 3rd is the 155th day of the year. There are 211 days remaining until the end of the year.


The Ontario government has once again extended a state of emergency as the COVID-19 crisis continues across the province.

A motion was passed at Queen’s Park yesterday to extend the state of emergency another 28 days until June 30. The previous state of emergency was set to expire the same day.

Several emergency orders are now in effect throughout June, including a ban on gatherings of more than five people and prohibiting restaurants and bars from opening, provide takeout or delivery.

The 97th Annual Buxton Homecoming Celebration will take place online this September because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The year’s event will be held virtually on Zoom from September 4-7th because of the restrictions on large gatherings.

The event celebrates the Underground Railroad and how it helped American slaves to freedom in Canada.

The theme of this year’s Buxton Homecoming is named Generations.


Ikea has announced that they will not be building in London.

In 2017 a full-size store was announced for the south end of the city, however, those plans were put on hold and ultimately were never fulfilled.

In January, IKEA closed its pickup and order point location on Wonderland Road in London. It also closed similar locations in Windsor, Kitchener, St. Catherines, and Whitby.

The closest Canadian location remains in Burlington.
