Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for most of southwestern Ontario with extreme temperatures expected today through Sunday, and potentially into early next week.
Most of southwestern Ontario will experience intense daytime highs near 35 C with overnight lows near 20 C. Environment Canada warns people that extreme heat can affect anyone. They are reminding people to drink plenty of water before feeling thirsty, to stay in a cool place, and monitor symptoms while outdoors to avoid heat related illnesses.
No word yet on when CK could advance to Stage 3 of reopening. Chatham-Kent was included in the first group of regions permitted to advance to Stage 2 of the re-opening plan on June 12.
CK Public Health reported on Thursday afternoon there was only one active case of COVID-19 in the Chatham area. It’s linked to ongoing outbreaks in the agri-food sector in Essex County. In a news conference on Tuesday, Health Minister Christine Elliott said provincial officials are discussing plans for Stage 3, but didn’t put a timeline on when that could move ahead.
A “buck moon” lunar eclipse is set for the night of July 4 and the morning of July 5, depending on where you’re located.

Officials at NBA 2K made the announcement Thursday … revealing two pieces of art — one for current-gen consoles and one for next-gen consoles — for cover options for the 2K21 game. The game with Kobe on the cover has been dubbed the “Mamba Forever Edition” … and officials say the version will come with special features, including unique Kobe gear for virtual avatars.
In a statement released by the company … they say they wanted to pay tribute to the Lakers legend for the legacy he left after he tragically passed in a helicopter crash back in January.
