August 5th is the 218th day of the year. There are 148 days remaining until the end of the year.


Forty new cases of COVID-19 were reported by CK Public Health on Tuesday afternoon.

Seventy-two cases remain active. Four individuals are currently hospitalized and 68 are self-isolating.

Out of Ontario’s 35 public health units, the municipality is sixth in the province for the most cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents.

91 new cases were reported yesterday across the province.


More drive-thru COVID-19 testing dates have been announced.

Wheatley and Dresden will host clinics this month.

The Wheatley clinic will take place August 11th and 12th, 10-6 at Wheatley Arena. The Dresden clinic is August 25th and 26th, 10-6 at Dresden Raceway.

Everyone is welcome to attend, you’ll just need to bring a valid Ontario Health Card.


Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday that Windsor-Essex will remain in Stage 2.

Windsor-Essex is the only region in the province that has not advanced to Stage 3.

Outbreaks, especially in agriculture and agri-food sectors, are holding them back. The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit says there have been over 1,100 COVID-19 cases in the agri-farm sector in the region since March.

The Premier did not indicate when Windsor-Essex will advance to Stage 3.


 Major League Baseball has cancelled it’s Field of Dreams game that was to be played in the cornfields in Iowa at a temporary ballpark.

“If you build it, the people will come.” Unless it’s 2020, “If you build it during a pandemic, no one’s coming.”

The game between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox was supposed to happen on August 13th, but not surprisingly, it’s not happening.

MLB says it’s been postponed until next year. No new date was set. The White Sox will still be one of the teams, but their opponent hasn’t been determined.


Kraft is trying to make mac-and-cheese a breakfast food by giving out special boxes that say Macaroni & Cheese Breakfast instead of Macaroni & Cheese Dinner.

A survey found 56% of parents are letting kids eat it for breakfast more often right now.
