The Chatham Goodfellows had a very good weekend collecting toys and food. The drop off kicked off the annual No Child Without a Christmas campaign.

The Goodfellows have made a significant change to the campaign for 2020. The age limit for children receiving toys and gifts this year will be increased this year, to up to age 15, instead of the previous age 12.

Next week the Goodfellows will begin taking online applications for those who will be in need this Christmas.

If you’d like to donate toys and/or food e-mail Chatham Goodfellows and a volunteer will arrange to pick up donations, following COVID protocols.

For information, contact the Goodfellows: call 519-354-1146, e-mail: info@chathamgoodfellows.ca or go online chathamgoodfellows.ca.

Tim Horton’s, Burger King and Popeyes drive thrus will be going through a major revamp.

This week parent company Restaurant Brands International announced that the fast-food chains would be modernizing their drive-thrus at thousands of North American locations.

The new and improved drive-thrus will feature digital screens with predictive selling technology that pushes specific items on the menu based on what the customer is adding to their order, the time of day, and the weather. This technology will also learn preferred ordering habits and show the latest and trending menu items most-ordered in your location.

There is no word as to when this will begin.

Costco is dropping coconut milk from its store shelves because of reports its Thailand suppliers have been using monkeys to collect coconuts.

They released a statement saying, “We have ceased purchasing from our supplier/owner of the brand Chaokoh. We will continue to monitor the implementation of the harvest policies and once satisfied will resume purchasing.”

Chaokoh is denying any wrongdoing and says they don’t use monkeys to collect coconuts
