January 6th is the 6th  day of the year. 


Chatham-Kent Public Health reported 29 new cases Tuesday. There are now 140 active cases.

On Monday, provincial health officials logged 3,128 new infections of the novel coronavirus, marking the fourth time Ontario’s daily case count has climbed above the 3,000 mark.

According to Tuesday’s provincial report, the majority of cases were recorded in Toronto, Peel Region, York Region, and Durham Region. Our neighbours in Middlesex-London recorded 151 new cases and 142 in Windsor-Essex County.


Chatham ranked 9th on U-Haul’s List of Canadian Growth Cities in 2020. This is a steady increase from previous years when Chatham ranked 10th in 2019, 11th in 2017, and 13th in 2016 on this same list. Growth Cities are calculated by the net gain of arriving one-way U-Haul trucks over departing one-way U-Haul trucks for a calendar year. 

 


The 2021 Grammy Awards has officially been pushed from its original date of January 31 to March 14. The Recording Academy said the decision was made following “thoughtful conversations with health experts” due to “the deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles.” The new date clashes with the Screen Actors Guild Awards, leading some to speculate that another announcement is imminent.


Apple is possibly developing two new foldable iPhone models. One will be similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip while the other will be a dual screen phone connected by a hinge. Apple may release the phones in late 2022 or 2023.

 


Pickle Doritos Are Now Something You Can Voluntarily Choose to Eat.

Pickle-flavored DORITOS just went on sale nationwide.  These things apparently popped up in a few spots last summer, and I guess they were popular enough that Doritos decided to give them a wider launch. According to one review they have a, quote, “very pleasant dill and vinegar flavor.”
