Chatham-Kent’s first long term care resident linked to the virus has passed. The resident was at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg. Our thoughts are with the family.
There are 142 active cases, matching C-K’s record-high from January 7th.
Ontario is reporting 1,563 new cases. Toronto, York and Peel continue to be the provincial hotspots.

Super Bowl 55 is Sunday night from Tampa.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. KC was the Super Bowl last season. This is Brady’s first season in Tampa (“Tompa”) he won 6 Super Bowl’s in New England. This is the first time that a team is playing in the game in they’re home city.
There’s a first for the officiating crew. The first woman to officiate a Super Bowl game happens this year as referee Sarah Thomas takes to the field.
Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan will perform the national anthem, and The Weeknd is doing the halftime show.

Ford Motor Company has received patent-pending approval for a new, clear respirator mask, one they expect to work just as well as an N95.
For the hearing-impaired, face masks both hide the lips and muffle the speaker’s voice. The transparent respirators will allow for better communication.
N95 masks are considered the best masks to use in the pandemic, as they filter out 95% of particles.
A roller coaster is under construction in the Middle East that is set to smash existing records for speed, height and track length.
It’s called Falcon’s Flight and the ride will be the main attraction of a Six Flags Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia when it opens in 2023.
The coaster will travel across four kilometers (about 2.5 miles) of track. There will be a a 160-meter-drop (525 feet) and hit speeds of 250-plus km/h.
The Falcon’s Flight will also be the world’s tallest free-standing coaster structure.
The park has been under construction since 2018.
