There’s a Special Weather Statement in place for Chatham-Kent this morning.
Heavy rain at times this morning, with isolated thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts will generally be in the 20 to 40mm (up to 1.5 inches) range, some areas could see more.
The rain should taper off by noon with strong winds gusting to 70 or 80 km/h are expected this afternoon.
Just four new positive COVID-19 cases reported Thursday by Chatham-Kent Public Health.
There were 8 recoveries, bring the total active cases down four to 104.
There were 2,380 positive cases reported in Ontario. That’s the highest single day total since late January.
The Greatest Raptor of All Time is staying put.
Six time NBA All Star, Kyle Lowry, was not traded by the team prior to yesterday’s deadline.
There have been rumours for most of the season that Lowry would be moved this season. He was part of the 2019 NBA Championship team and has been a member of the Raps for nine seasons. Lowry turned 35 yesterday and will become a free agent after the season.
Norm Powell, also from that championship team, was traded to Portland.
The Toronto commute is pretty wild. Thursday included a wild animal.
A beaver was seen hanging out near the top of the stairs at the Royal York station platform around 7am.
The TTC closed the entrance to the station as a result, citing an “animal in distress” as staff waited for the appropriate wildlife authorities to arrive.
It took two hours, but the critter was eventually released into a pond close by.

TTC says they’ve notified the City of Toronto, Animal Services & Toronto Police. There is a supervisor currently watching the beaver.

Heinz just keeps on releasing condiment mashups.
They just announced two new ones: Sweet Ketchili, which is a mix of ketchup and sweet Thai chili sauce and Buffaranch, which is Buffalo sauce and ranch.
Less than two weeks ago, Heinz announced three other mashups: Hanch, which is hot sauce and ranch, Wasabioli, which is wasabi and garlic aioli and Tarchup, which is tartar sauce and ketchup.
And over the past couple of years, they’ve released at least a half dozen others.
The two newest sauces don’t have an official release date yet but they’re already starting to show up on stores’ websites, so they’re probably going on sale soon.
