The name change was announced on Tuesday.

Elks was one of seven potential name changes the Edmonton Football Team provided on its shortlist. The others included: Evergreens, Evergolds, Eclipse, Elkhounds, Eagles and Elements. They’ll stick with the traditional green and gold colour scheme.
The CFL is hoping to hold a 14 game season beginning in early April.
