After a big jump in new positive COVID-19 cases on Monday, just 10 new cases were reported Tuesday by Chatham-Kent Public Health.
There were 8 resolved cases, the total active case count locally is now 85.
As of today, COVID-19 testing will no longer be available at the temporary pop-up clinic in the Downtown Chatham Centre. Chatham-Kent’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre (10 Grand Ave. West in the 7/11 plaza) still offers testing 7 days/week. Book online at: assessmentbooking.ca.
Ontario reported 687 new cases. The province recorded the 10,000 COVID related death of the pandemic. Ontario has logged the second-highest death toll in Canada behind Québec.
The Bradley Centre Vaccination Clinic will be open all week for Pfizer vaccination appointments for 5 to 11 year olds.

In Ontario over 150,000 vaccine appointments for children have been booked and over 86,000 children under 12 have received their first shot according to Health Minster Christine Elliott.
All air travelers returning to Canada, excluding the U.S., will need to take a Covid-19 test at the airport regardless of vaccine status. They will then need to quarantine until the results of their test.
So, if you’re travelling home from the Caribbean or Mexico – when you return you will need to undergo a mandatory test at the airport and self-isolate at your home or other safe spot until you get a negative test (if you’re fully vaccinated).
If you’re unvaccinated, you must self-isolate for 14 days.

A dubious distinction for an Australian man.
Neville Sharp has set the Guinness World Record for the loudest burp by a male, breaking a record which has stood for over a decade.
Neville’s mighty burp was registered at 112.4 decibels back on July 29th. That’s louder than an average electric drill or a trombone.
He says prepared for the attempt for five years to perfect the strength and noise level of his burp. His attempt was done at a studio that was acoustically dampened to ensure an accurate decibel reading.
The record breaks Paul Hunn’s (UK) longstanding record of 109.9 db that he set 12 years ago.
