5 Things You Need To Know

January 21st is the 21st day of the year. There are 344 days remaining until the end of the year.

Premier Doug Ford says Ontario will start easing its latest COVID-19 restrictions on Monday, January 31st.

Ontario’s 3-phased re-opening plan will roll out like this:

  • February 21 – Capacity limits lifted on restaurants, theatres.

The province has been in a modified Step 2 of the Road to Reopen Plan since January 5th, closing restaurants to in-person dining, shutting gyms and putting a 50% capacity on retail.

The restrictions were scheduled to be in place until at least January 26th.

The M&M characters are getting a tweak.

They have changed the lady characters to be less sexist. They’d been getting complaints about it for a while.

Green has swapped her go-go boots for sneakers. Brown is sporting lower, more sensible heels. Red and Yellow’s shoes now have laces. Orange’s shoes laces are no longer untied. And Blue’s shoes, are described as “a bad version of Uggs.” Currently, there are two female characters and four male ones.

The logo got a slight adjustment adjustment too: Instead of resting on its side, it’s set up straight. The logo was last tweaked in 2019.

The changes are rolling out online this week and they’ll be incorporated into M&Ms’ packaging this year.
