March 21st is the 80th day of the year. There are 285 days remaining until the end of the year.


Ontario’s mask mandate has been lifted.

It’s the provinces most long-standing measure of protection against COVID-19, masks are no longer required to be worn in most settings, including schools and child-care settings.

Masking requirements will remain for public transit, long-term care, retirement homes and other health-care settings, congregate care settings, shelters, jails and homes for individuals with developmental disabilities.

On April 27, barring a significant turn of events or worsening COVID-19 indicators, essentially all public health measures against COVID-19 will end in Ontario.


There’s a blood donor clinic Wednesday in Blenheim St. Mary’s Hall.

No walk-in appointments are available, although day of appointments do become available.

After helping thousands of people across the country get vaccinated this past year Vaccine Hunters Canada has announced it’s shutting down.

The volunteer-run organization is known would post daily on its social media pages where Canadians could find a first, second, and booster dose in each province.

The team said the announcement also comes exactly one year to the day Vaccine Hunters Canada started operations.

According to Health Canada, more than 85% of Canadians five years of age and older are fully vaccinated.


Spring officially arrived on Sunday.

For the next three months here in the Northern Hemisphere the days will grow longer, that will lead us to June’s Summer Solstice of June 21, the longest day of the year.

Sunday was one of two days out of the year – the other being the day of the autumnal equinox in September – when the Earth’s axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in roughly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness almost everywhere on Earth.

Spring officially arrived at 11:33am yesterday.
