March 31st is the 90th day of the year. There are 275 days remaining until the end of the year.


Environment Canada has issued another Special Weather Statement for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex for today.

Strong winds are expected today up to 80 and 90 km/h.

Moderate winds will gust up to 50 km/h this morning. Winds will then shift and strengthen to up to 90 km/h later in the morning.


The final public information session for special event organizers is tonight in Wallaceburg.

The meeting is 6:30-8:30pm at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena in the Jack Backus Mezzanine Room.

This is for special event organizers to get details on how to apply for a permit and other applications related to hosting an event. Municipal staff will be available to answer any questions.


Trivia nights are back at Sons of Kent in support of Rise House International.

Cost is $20 per person at the door. Trivia begins at 7pm with some awesome prizes to be won.


Good news for Team Canada!

A donation to the Canadian Olympic Foundation and Paralympic Foundation of Canada means that players who won medals in the last two games are going to get paid.

Canadian healthcare technology entrepreneur Sanjay Malaviya donated $1.2 million.

Olympians and Paralympians who won medals of any kind in the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 will receive a $5,000 grant per medal earned. This means that 130 Olympians and 53 Paralympians will be getting a chunk of cash.

The donation is significant for Canadian Paralympians who don’t actually receive any money when they win a medal.


On Wednesday Dollarama announced that it will be introducing products with a fixed price point of $5 or less.

Since 2015, items on Dollarama shelves have sold for or below fixed prices of $3.50 and $4, inflation has forced the company to raise its maximum price by a whole dollar.

There are currently more than 1,400 locations across Canada.

The company reported its financial results this week; According to the report, sales were up by 11% to $1.2 billion compared to the same time during the previous year.
