5 Things You Need To Know

March 8th is the 67th day of the year. There are 298 days remaining until the end of the year.

Today is International Women’s Day, part of Women’s History Month.

International Women’s Day was first suggested at a 1910 women’s conference in Copenhagen by activist Clara Zetkin. The first “IWD” was observed in Germany the next year.

It’s a national holiday in China and Russia, where female workers are presented with flowers and gifts.

The theme this year is #BreaktheBias.

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge women’s equality.

Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Chatham is the Roll Up capital of Ontario.

With Tim Hortons annual Roll Up the Rim to win promotion launching again on Monday, the company released that Chatham placed third in the overall top rolling cities across Canada following Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick.

“They earned enough rolls to win with the most free coffees and donuts on a per capita basis compared to anywhere in Canada,” Tim Hortons Canada said in a release Monday.

The list is determined by looking at where the free coffee and donut prizes are redeemed across Canada last spring.
