June 3rd is the 154th day of the year. There are 211 days remaining until the end of the year.


Doug Ford and the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario will form the next provincial government.

It’s the second straight Conservative majority government. The NDP will form the Official Opposition.

Locally, Trevor Jones won the riding of Chatham-Kent-Leamington beating the incumbent Rick Nicholls. MPP Monte McNaughton was re-elected in the riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for a fourth term.

Early estimates suggest fewer than 45 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots in the election.


The main C-K Vaccination Clinic has now closed, but Chatham-Kent Public Health is still offering mobile clinics around the municipality.

There is a clinic this morning at the Active Lifestyle Centre (20 Merritt Ave, Chatham) from 9-2. You can walk in or book an a appointment at GetYourShotCK.ca.

There’s a bike rodeo at Grace Christian Reformed Church in Chatham (255 Tweedsmuir Ave W) from 10 to 1 on Saturday.

Come by and have your helmets inspected & adjusted and then test your skills on the track. There will be free food, games, and bike mechanics.

There will also be a brief ribbon-cutting outside of the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Free Help CK to launch a new Give & Take Food & Book Box — a mix of a Little Free Pantry and a Little Free Library.


There was no Lotto Max winner Tuesday night.

The grand prize stays at $70 million for Fridays draw. There will be 43 Maxmillion prizes of $1 million each up for grabs.

Tickets are available online or in store until 10:30pm on draw nights.


Gas prices are going to jump 5 cents per litre today.

The provincial average is about 208.9.

The highest in Ontario is still in Sudbury, they’re expecting to see prices at the pumps go up by 7.5 cents, bringing it to 220.9 cents per litre.

Locally it’s at 199.5 in Chatham, 200.0 in Wallaceburg, 202.9 in Blenheim and 198.9 in Tilbury.
