Come by Tecumseh Park tonight for a free show by the Chatham Concert Band.

This is the 95th season of the Concert Band’s Summer Concert Series.

Every Wednesday the band plays free in the park. Bring your family, lawn chairs and pets.

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.


Wallaceburg’s WAMBO is back in full force this weekend for the first time since 2019.

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The event was cancelled in 2020 and scaled back for 2021.

Opening ceremonies will be Friday 5pm. Boats begin to arrive on the Sydenham River. The Terry Glover Memorial Cruise starts at Canadian Tire at 7 to Dresden and back.

Saturday, the main day of the event, will feature the cars and motorcycles lining James Street, the boats on the Sydenham River, the fire truck show and parade, art in the park, the Downtown Wallaceburg BIA Farmers Market, soap box races and more.

On the Sunday, an interdenominational church service will be held downtown 10-11:30am. The mini garden tractor pull will be held noon to 6pm.

This is the 33rd annual WAMBO.


The Christmas holiday tradition for Canadian hockey fans is now a summertime tradition…for this year anyways.

The World Junior Hockey Championship brings the best under 20 hockey players from around the world. Usually in the week after Christmas, the tournament started but was called off after just two games because of the COVID-19 resurgence.

Tilbury’s Brett Brochu and Windsor Spitfires captain Will Cuylle are on the team.

The favourite Canadians begin their tournament today against Latvia at 6 on TSN.

The United States is the defending champion of the tournament, defeating Canada to win the 2021.


Week 6 of the CK Recreation Summerfest kicks off tomorrow night!

On Thursday the Party in the Park is at Kinsmen Park, Dresden 5-8pm. Stop by for lots of fun activities, crafts and Play Rangers absolutely free for the who family.

The Movie in the Park will roll into Crother’s Park Wallaceburg on Friday. Come by to see Raya and the Last Dragon. Movie starts at dusk.

Ever Saturday and Sunday are Beach Days in Erieau & Mitchell’s Bay 11-4pm and Play Rangers in Kingston Park.

Serena Williams announced her retirement yesterday.

She didn’t use the word “retirement” though, she said she plans to “evolve” away from the sport, to, “other things that are important to me.”

Serena is currently playing in the Canadian Open in Toronto. Yesterday, she won her first singles match in 14 months, to advance to the second round.

Serena turns 41 next month.

Serena started her pro career in 1995, at the age of 14. She’s won 73 singles titles, including 23 majors. She has four Olympic gold medals and spent 319 weeks as the #1 player in the world.

She and her sister Venus have won 14 major doubles titles.
