France and most of Europe is in the midst of its worst drought since records began.

A handful of Europe’s major rivers are shrinking under the most severe climate-driven drought in decades.

With an early heatwave in June and an unusually hot and dry month of May, the bed of France’s Loire River have reached a lower level than usual. Water levels are so low that the river can be crossed on foot in certain places producing some wild photos.

Recent heatwaves have triggered weeks of wildfires and reduced the mighty Loire to a stream in some stretches.

Across two-thirds of France, a state of crisis has been declared by the government, with rainfall down by some 85%.

Canada’s Wonderland has announced two new rides that will be running next year.

The Tundra Twister and Snoopy’s Racing Railway – will be completed by 2023.

The Tundra Twister, a 360-degree spinning swing ride, is the only one of its kind in the world. It’s a giant looping ride with rotating gondola arms that will have guests spinning, twisting and twirling 360-degrees, upside-down, at heights of 47 metres and speeds of 75 km/h.

Snoopy’s Racing Railway is a thrill ride for the whole family. The coaster accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in a matter of seconds before zipping through dips and turns as your train narrowly avoids the traps set by Woodstock and his Bad Seed Gang.

These two will bring the total to 18 rollercoasters in the park for next season.

After three years, scientists have developed two robotic arms that can assemble IKEA flat-pack furniture in just 20 minutes.

Researchers from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore developed algorithms to help the robot build the chair. The robot has arms that are equipped with grips and a 3-D camera.

Just like humans, the robot stared at the detached chair pieces prior to starting its task. It then devised a plan using its algorithm to find the quickest route without the robotic arms colliding. Finally, the arms worked together to find out where the holes in each wooden pin were and pressed the parts together.
