September 2nd is the 245th day of the year. There are 120 days remaining until the end of the year.


Twitter is testing an edit button. It will be available to Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks. The button allows Twitter users to make changes to their tweets within 30 minutes of them being posted. When polled, 73.6% of Twitter users wanted an edit button.

The company framed the edit button — its “most requested feature to date” — as a way of reducing the frustration that comes with having to either delete a post or leave a typo on display because there is currently no way to alter tweets.


“SNL” asked fans on Twitter who they’d like to see host, and Carol Burnett got an avalanche of support. It actually got her name trending to the point that a lot of people were afraid she DIED.

If Carol does the show, she’ll be the oldest person who’s EVER hosted. She’s 89 years old. Betty was only 88 when SHE hosted.


The 99th Annual Buxton Homecoming Weekend starts today.

This years theme is Reunited and It Feels so Good. All activities take place on the grounds of the historic Buxton settlement.

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Homecoming was an online event only. in 2021 there was some limited in-person events. This year the organizers have planned for a full 4-day weekend celebrating African Canadian heritage, family reunions, children’s activities and the best of small-town hospitality.

The weekends events begin Friday and end on Monday with the Homecoming Parade (starts at 12:30) Parade ends at the Buxton Playground with children’s activity stations, food vendors, beer tent, craft vendors and car show.

Saturday is the wrap up of the Summer Brewfest sponsored by Teksavvy.

Local breweries Bayside Brewing, Sons of Kent and Red Barn Brewing have teamed up all summer for outdoor parties hosted at the breweries.

Saturday at Red Barn Brewing will be FarmFest, the final event. Stop by the barn on Saturday for entertainment, vendors and beer duh Doors open at noon, entertainment at 1pm.

Earlier in the Summer Bayside hosted EauFest and Sons of Kent had FunkFest.


Dresden’s 6th Annual Art In the Park is this Saturday from 10am-3pm at Tony Stranak Conservation Area. There will be approximately 150 vendors this year and admission is free!

The Amazing Vito will be performing his Comical Magic live at 1:30pm. Admission for his performance is only 1$.

A photographer will be set up for taking photos for a fee. 2×3 on-site prints and digitally emailed prints will be available of your kids with their favourite on-site live Cosplayers, Pets with their owners, as well as photo boards where you can pop your head into a funny photo; even your pets.
