The Tunnel Bus is returning.

Transit Windsor says the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel Bus will resume service on Sunday, November 20th.

The fare will be $7.50 one way or $15 round trip – Canadian or US.

The Tunnel Bus operates a short route through downtown Detroit, seven days a week. Service to Little Caesars, Comerica Park and Ford Field is still suspended until further notice.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission announced a new rule on Thursday that satellites that are no longer in service must get out of the sky within five years to help decrease the amount of garbage in Earth’s orbit.

This five-year timeline is far shorter than the previous rule of 25 years. The goal of this rule is to prevent the dangerous collection of junk and debris in space.

It’s estimated that there are more than 100 million pieces of space junk traveling uncontrolled through orbit, ranging in size from a penny to an entire rocket booster. Much of that debris, experts say, is too small to track and could cause collisions in space that could render future space exploration and satellite launches impractical — and even impossible.

It’s Fat Bear Week.

Fat Bear Week is an annual, single-elimination tournament.

The competition shows off the brown bears of Katmai National Park and Preserve as they complete their transformations from scrawny to “fat” for hibernation. We get to watch along on the live Bear Cams.

The competition has been around since 2014. The average midsummer weight of an adult male in Katmai is estimated between 700 to 900 pounds. Several large brown bears in Katmai can weigh in at over 1,000 pounds by the fall.

From October 5 – 11, the public votes online for the bear that they think best exemplifies fatness in brown bears. The bear with the most votes advances. Only one is crowned Fat Bear Week champion. The larger goal of Fat Bear Week is to promote conservation efforts to preserve places like Katmai.

Fans can vote on Explore.org’s website every day of the competition between noon and 9pm.
