CKRecreation is offering some free swimming for the family over the holiday break.
At the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool: There are free rec swims every day from December 27–31 and January 2–7.
There are free Parent & Tot swims December 27, 28, & 30 and January 2, 3, 4, & 6.
At the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool: There are free rec swims every day from December 27–31 and January 2–7.
There are free Parent & Tot swims December 28, & 30 and January 2, 4, & 6.
Both pools will be closed December 24–26 and January 1.

Winter officially begins this afternoon at 4:48pm.
The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, meaning the least amount of sunlight. We should get 9-9.5 hours of sunlight.
Meaning that Thursday is the first day of our ever-brightening journey towards next June’s summer solstice. Yay!

There’s a new most liked photo on Instagram.
The record for ‘likes’ was previously held by Chris Godfrey, who uploaded a photo of an egg in January 2019. The photo ended up getting 56.1 million likes, with the aim of surpassing the then-most liked Instagram post, a picture of Kylie Jenner’s daughter which had 18.6 million likes.
On Sunday, footballer Lionel Messi posted multiple photos of him lifting the FIFA World Cup Trophy and celebrating with his teammates after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina.
The caption to his viral post, written in Spanish, thanked his family and supporters.
“CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!” said his caption. “So many times I dreamed it, so much I wanted it that I still don’t fall; I can’t believe it….”
The photos reached 10 million likes in the first 39 minutes of its sharing. On Tuesday the post reached over 56.0 million likes, surpassing the world record egg.
As of this morning there are over 68.6 million likes.
Prices at the pumps are expected to rise 2 cents per litre today, the provincial average will be 139.9 cents per litre.
Locally this morning, as of 5:30: in Chatham it’s 129.5, Wallaceburg at 131.5, Blenheim 130.3 and 132.3 in Tilbury.
On the bright side, diesel prices are predicted to drop 2 cents, to an average of 209.9 cents per litre for most of Ontario.
