Eligible Canadians are set to get a one-time grocery rebate tomorrow.
The benefit was announced as part of the 2023 federal government budget and will be delivered as either a direct deposit or cheque.
The rebate is meant to compensate Canadians for higher grocery prices, although it can be spent on anything.
The amount received will be calculated based on your family situation in January 2023 and your 2021 adjusted family net income. On average, the rebate will be up to $467 for eligible couples with two children, $234 for single Canadians without children, and $225 for seniors.
There is no need to apply for the rebate and will be issued alongside the quarterly GST/HST payment.

The patriotic Canada Day show that was supposed to happen at TJ Stables on Sunday has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. on July 30.
Tickets are $10 in advance or you can purchase them at the gates.
There’s a blood donor clinic today in Chatham at the Portuguese Canadian Club.

The next available clinic will be at the Ken Houston Arena in Dresden on July 11.
Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will need blood at some point in their lives, yet only four percent of Canadians donate. 
Some fare pricing changes came into effect for Ride CK over the long weekend.
As of Saturday, riders who pay their fare using a Cash Pass will now receive a discount off the exact cash fare on all Ride CK services.
There is also a slight fare increase for the 30-day Urban Pass.
The 22-Ride Pass for inter-urban routes will continue to be accepted but is no longer for sale.
Exact change for urban and inter-urban conventional services will be held at $2.50 and $5.00, respectively. Exact cash for Chatham Accessible and Wallaceburg Accessible specialized urban transit services and demand-responsive Wallaceburg service will be held at $2.50
Children five years and under continue to be free with a paying passenger.
