July was officially the hottest month on record.

Climate monitoring officials say last month was Earth’s hottest month on record by a large margin.

July’s global average temperature was 16.95C, a third of a degree higher than the previous record set back in 2019. Normally, global temperature records are broken by hundredths or tenths of a degree, which makes this margin unusual.

Gas prices in southern Ontario are expected to see a signifigant jump over the next couple of days.

Accoring to industry analysts, prices at the pump are expected to jump around 4 cents on average today and could see a nine-month high by tomorrow.

The spike is being blamed on the recent rise in global oil prices for the expected increase.

As of 5 am, prices in Chatham are ranging from 159.9 cents per to 168.9, in Tilbury they’re around 164.6 and 159.9 in Wallaceburg.
