The Chatham Concert Band returns to Tecumseh Park tonight for Summer Concerts in the Park.

This is the 96th year for the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7pm.

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.


CK Recreation is heading to Tilbury this weekend.

Come out to Memorial Park on Friday between 6-8pm for crafts, activities and games for the whole family. Then stick around for the Movie in the Park under the stars.

There is no cost to attend.


Spain will make up one half of the Women’s World Cup Final, after defeating Sweden on Tuesday.

Spain scored in the 89th minute to earn their spot.

The other semifinal is Australia and England, that game is just starting (5:45am) the winner will move to the final. The game is broadcast on TSN.


Another death in the Toronto Maple Leafs family.

On Monday, 21 year old prospect Rodion Amirov passed with a brain tumour.

Tuesday, Bobby Baun, who scored one of the most famous goals in Toronto Maple Leafs history died. He was 86.

In Game 6 of the 1964 Stanley Cup Final he broke his ankle blocking a Gordie Howe shot in the third period. A stretcher was needed to get the injured Baun off the ice. But he returned to score the overtime winner against the Detroit Red Wings. The Leafs went on to win the Cup in Game 7.

He was a member of four Stanley Cup-winning Maple Leafs teams, including the club’s most recent championship year in 1967.

Baun also played for the Red Wings later in his career.


Madonna turns 65 today.

Yesterday the rescheduled tour dates for the North American leg of her Celebration Tour were announced. She had to postpone the start of the tour in July due to a bacterial infection, that led to an intensive care unit.

The tour will now kick off December 13th in Brooklyn and run through April, with a stop in Toronto January 11 and 12 then Detroit on January 15th.

Tickets for the previously scheduled shows will be honoured on the new dates.
