The Chatham Concert Band returns to Tecumseh Park tonight for Summer Concerts in the Park.

This week its the band’s annual Kids’ Concert, the show is free beginning at 7 pm.

Terry McConnell will be conducting tonight and he’ll chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.


More mosquitos have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Chatham-Kent.

According to the CK Public Health Unit, mosquitos from a trap collected on August 1 in North West Chatham have tested positive for the virus.

This is the second time a positive trap has been collected this season.

West Nile Virus is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. While some individuals infected with the virus may not display any symptoms, others may experience mild effects such as fever, headaches, body aches, and fatigue.


We now know who’s moving on to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

Spain, Japan, The Netherlands, Sweden, England, Australia , Columbia and France made it to the next round.

One thing that’s confirmed, this Women’s World Cup will definitely have a new winner after Sweden knocked out reigning world champions Team USA over the weekend.

The Elite Eight round kicks off on Thursday night with Spain taking on the Netherlands.


Chatham-Kent Police are warning residents to be careful when it comes to selling things online.

Recently, police say someone posted some hunting bows for sale. After agreeing to a price with a potential buyer, police say the buyer sent the seller a cheque that turned out to be fraudulent.  

If you’re selling stuff online, police are reminding you to use secure payment platforms, be suspicious if the person offers to pay more than the item is listed for and always trust your gut.


Someone in Florida just won the third-largest jackpot in US lotto history.

A single winning ticket was sold in the state for last night’s record $1.58 billion dollar Mega Millions jackpot

Whoever wins has the option of taking an estimated lump sum payment of $783 million before taxes or getting the full amount over 29 years in annual payments.

The jackpot had been growing since it was last won in mid-April. Since then, 31 drawings were held without anyone matching all six numbers.

This is the second jackpot of more than $ 1-billion in less than a month in the U.S. after one ticket won the $1-billion Powerball jackpot in mid-July
