September 7th is the 250th day of the year. There are 117 days remaining until the end of the year.


The Blenheim Rotary Club hosts Summer Concerts in the Park.

Every Thursday from 7-8:30 bring a lawn chair and enjoy some music at Talbot Trail Place.

This week it’s The Chasers on the stage. Next week is the final Summer Concert.


Today is the deadline for players to register for the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers tryout this weekend.

Players must register by contacting [email protected] or going to ckbarnstormers.com/tryouts. Evaluations start tomorrow at Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park from 6:30-9:30p.m. Players who make the cuts will be back on the diamond Saturday for more evaluations and intra-squad games.

The Barnstormers will begin play in May 2024 in the Intercounty Baseball League.


The 104th NFL season kicks off tonight.

The season will kick off with defending Super Bowl LVII champion Kansas City hosting the Detroit Lions at 8:20p.m. The game will be on NBC, CTV or TSN.

This years Super Bowl LVIII will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in Las Vegas.


Tim Hortons has launched a new line of clothing.

The new TimShop.ca has a range of sweaters, T-shirts and joggers in stock. The limited-edition clothing has vintage Tim Hortons logos, novelty crewnecks in bright pink and electric blue and even Timbits-inspired outfits.

Tim Hortons says the store will sell additional merchandise come National Coffee Day (October 1) later this month.


Tuesday was the last day with a sunset after 8p.m. for nearly the next seven months.

As of last night, the sunsets will all be before 8 until the beginning of April. The next time the sun is expected to set later than 8p.m. will be on April 3rd when it’s scheduled to set at 8 on the dot.

We will lose about three minutes of daylight each day over the next month, with the sunset scheduled two minutes earlier every day. By the end of September, the sunset is scheduled for 7:15p.m.

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 5.
