The Camp Committee for Camp Vincent will be holding a BBQ fundraiser at Sobey’s today.

Grab a bite for a donation between 11-2.

Keep an eye for Camp Vincent fundraisers all winter – the plan is to open the camp next Summer.


The Royal Canadian Legion’s poppy campaign begins today.

The 2023 Digital Poppy will once again be presented through MyPoppy.ca. You can dedicate a Digital Poppy and share it on your social media channels.

The annual campaign runs until Remembrance Day, with money raised by each legion branch helping veterans and their families in those communities.


Game One of the 2023 World Series is tonight.

The Texas Rangers will host the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Rangers are one of 6 MLB teams without a MLB title. Arizona has been to the final once, and won in 2001.

The first pitch is at 8 and you can watch all the games on Sportsnet.


The Chatham Goodfellows 69th annual campaign to provide food and toys to children and their families during the holidays begins next week.

Online applications for those that have applied in previous years opens on Wednesday. Apply online at ChathamGoodfellows.ca.

Key dates for the 2023 campaign:

  • November 1 – Online Applications for those who have applied in previous years.
  • November 6 – First-time Applications: Must apply by phone. Applications close: Friday, December 1.
  • December 4 – Porchlight Campaign: Residents are asked to donate money, toys or food when a volunteer comes to their door, or reach out to the Goodfellows at 519-354-1146 to arrange pick up.
  • December 15-16 – Street Sales of Goodfellows Newspaper: Volunteers will fan out across Chatham to collect donations for copy of annual Goodfellows newspaper.
  • December 11-14: Toy Packing at former Monsignor Uyen school, 255 Lark St.
  • December 18 – Basket delivery: Any time after 5 p.m.
