Friends star Matthew Perry died Saturday at 54.
The actor was found dead of an apparent drowning at his Los Angeles home.
Perry played quick witted Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on Friends. Just last year he opened up about his long struggle with addiction, writing his memoir that started with the line, “Hi, my name is Matthew, although you may know me by another name. My friends call me Matty. And I should be dead.”
Born in Massachusetts. His father is actor John Bennett Perry and his mother, Suzanne, served as press secretary of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and is married to Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison.
Matthew Perry’s passing is shocking and saddening. I’ll never forget the schoolyard games we used to play, and I know people around the world are never going to forget the joy he brought them. Thanks for all the laughs, Matthew. You were loved – and you will be missed.

Best Buy is recalling nearly 1 million Insignia pressure cookers and separate inner pots due to a defect that can cause hot foods to spew out.
The recalled pressure cookers, have incorrect volume markings on their inner pots — that can cause consumers to overfill them. As a result, hot food and liquids can be ejected from the device when it’s vented or opened.
If you own one of the recalled devices should you stop using them immediately. Contact Best Buy for a free replacement of the inner pot and locking valve.
